The Silver Files was created with you in mind.

Office_picture.smaller While working with older adults and their caregivers in the long term care industry, the founders of The Silver Files noticed two major issues of older adults and their caregivers when seeking care: (1) an overwhelming feeling while navigating the senior care system and (2) a need for multiple services to meet the diverse needs and conditions that many individuals face. Despite the presence of these factors, there remained a lack of coordinated information, leaving many seniors and caregivers with disjointed efforts, unmet needs and unplanned costs. Until now.

With the combined experience of over 25 years in long term care, and with the combined formal education of over 12 years in the discipline of Gerontology, The Silver Files management team brings together a practical and informed approach to bringing unique solutions for the needs and desires of older adults.

Our Management Team

Jennifer Jurado Severance, Founder, Executive Director of Operations
Before founding The Silver Files, Severance worked in the long term care industry in the management of skilled nursing and assisted living care facilities. After returning to advance her degree in Applied Gerontology, Severance began research in public health care and community services and found a new interest in aging communities, particularly in underserved areas. Severance brings this commitment to The Silver Files by building a resource bridging increasingly diverse older adults with a growing abundance of supportive services.  Severance is a graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and has her doctoral degree from the Department of Gerontology at the University of North Texas in Denton. Severance owes her energy and optimism to her three boys who keep her on the edge of her seat. She owes her dedication to senior care to her grandmother and parents, all of whom live as examples that anything and everything is possible.

Kimberly Vincent Shoaf, Founder, Executive Director of Business Development
With over 20 years of professional experience in the management and marketing of retirement, assisted living and personal care homes, Shoaf has worked to closely synchronize the needs of older adults and the services of senior care providers. More recently, caring for a grandparent with Alzheimer’s Disease brought her face-to-face with the realities of dementia and of caregiving. Shoaf applies this personal and practical experience to developing avenues of services at The Silver Files, careful to involve the input of advisors who are and who care for older adults. Shoaf graduated with a degree in gerontology from Oklahoma Christian University. Her personal time is divided among the generations of her family: the delights of her two daughters, the strength of her parents, and the grace of her grandmother.
